Hi, I’m Shonda!

Here's some background information on me and how I got aligned on my path.

Shonda Broom is a 2005 nursing graduate from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. She spent 10 years of her career running a non-medical homecare agency that assisted the elderly and people with developmental disabilities. While owning her homecare agency she continued to work in a variety of health care settings such as contract/agency, med-surg, mental health, rehab, nursing home, and home health. In 2016, her life shifted unexpectedly and she closed her business and focused on her health.

Shonda’s nursing path was forever changed with she tested positive for cannabis during a pre-employment screening and was ultimately left with the decision to surrender her nursing license.

In 2017, Shonda's path transitioned more towards holistic services and she became a Holistic Health Practitioner, Herbalist, and Cannabis Advocate. Shonda is the Founder and CEO of 501c nonprofit Coram Deo Holistic Center. The goal of the center is to provide holistic, natural, and plant-based products and services for the mind, body, and spirit.

Shonda has turned her pain into purpose by advocating for workplace protections and safety for cannabis. She does one on one consults with employees to determine their protections in regards to their employment as well as working with employers to create policies and action plans in alignment with laws based on their state.

She is also a member of:
